Tony Romo: Saying goodbye to a legend

I grew up in a football driven household. My dad a Dallas Cowboys fan and my mom a Miami Dolphins fan. However, as I got older I stuck with the Dallas Cowboys. I remember being highly invested in sports from a young age.

There was this game I remember seeing my dad watch when we were in Orlando at the Nickelodeon Hotel about to check out, but he couldn’t pull away from the TV because it was an important game. I don’t know what exactly happened, but the Cowboys lost that game. When I mentioned this memory to him recently, he said that if they had won that game it would’ve taken them to the Super Bowl.

This weekend in Gator sports

Florida Gators vs. LSU Tigers, March 24, 2017, Gainesville, FL

Baseball – vs. LSU – March 24, 2017

1-0, Florida 

It was a slow start Friday evening, when the Gators faced the Tigers in Gainesville for the first SEC Tournament game of the season.

It was until JJ Schwarz, hit the ball to left field at the bottom of the 6th inning allowing teammate, Deacon Liput to run to home base and give Florida a 1-0 lead against LSU. Gator fans cheered in excitement, but it was short lived as neither team was able to score in the last three innings.

Sports fan or concert fan, you’re the same

There are adrenaline junkies who get their rush from rollercoasters, skydiving and climbing to the top of the world. However, many attend events that give that rush of adrenaline and excitement.

There are two different major events a person could attend out of many, a sporting event and a concert. Both are relatively exciting and create a strong emotion in the individuals who are present.

“I attend sporting events because I enjoy watching the games in person rather than on TV,” said Samantha Hernandez, 18, a sports management major at Santa Fe College.

Being A Woman In Sports Media

“You’re going to be in a man’s world.”

I get this from my roommate all the time. She isn’t wrong at all. The sports media industry is filled with testosterone. Women have only recently began to enter this industry. We also have to work ten times harder than the man next to us to get assignments and promotions. We are tested every second about our knowledge of sports. Every day I am doubting my choice of major because I know how hard it is going to be for me from here on out.
